PAKISTANI CARDAMOM COOKIES
12 - 15 cookies
4 dl flour
1 dl powered sugar
2 dl softened unsalted butter
1 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
1 1/2 teaspoon soda bicorbonate
1 egg yolk (optional)
Few slivered pistachios for garnish
Beat butter and sugar until well combined. Add flour, cardamom powder and soda bicarbonate. Mix together into a crumbly dough. Make small balls and compact the dough in your palm. Make a little dent with your thumb into the center of the ball. Brush dent with egg yolk and sprinkle pistachios on top. Place on a baking sheet leaving space inbetween cookies. Bake on 190°C for 10-15 minutes, until the cookies are light golden. Let cool before eating.
